The Owls and the Moon Art Program at Thorn Creek Woods is artistic and spooky for children – or adults – who love nature and Halloween. Local artist Pat Moore will help artists capture the after-dark lives of owls and the moon. Students will draft from nature, studying real owl taxidermy specimens to create their own owl masks to wear or display. And if the autumn moon inspires you, you can also create a moon mask to represent any phase of the moon – full, half moon, or crescent – decorated and texturized with color, sequins, feathers and sand. All materials will be provided and refreshments will be served. This program will be held in the Thorn Creek Woods Nature Center, an accessible facility.
