The Capital Fund

The Capital Fund was established by the Friends of Thorn Creek Woods to fund the vital improvements and projects in both the Nature Center building and in the Nature Preserve itself for which the Preserve budget holds no funds. The Capital Fund has raised more than $20,000 to date. The American Hiking Association granted the Fund $5,000 for bridge work. Friends of the late Joe Hanes donated funds in his name. An anonymous gift of $5,000 was made to the Capital Fund by members of the Friends of Thorn Creek Woods through the T. Rowe Price Program for Charitable Giving. Donations were also received from participants in last year’s Thorn Creek Woods Bike & Hike event and Spaghetti Dinner, and additional donations were received from individuals.
