August’s Prairie Sampler Workday at Thorn Creek Woods is Monday, August 15, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Get down and dirty and help Master Gardeners from the University of Illinois Extension Service care for our Prairie Sampler at this monthly workday.  The small prairie in front of nature center that the late Jim Marzuki nurtured, needs your help with weeding, pulling Tall Goldenrod, trimming out woody plants, then planting and watering the newly acquired plants.  Bring your own gloves, hand clippers, kneelers if you like.  Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots. Refreshments will be provided.

Monday, August 15, 9:30 a.m. to noon. Free! All ages; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
