Open Hours Volunteers are Special and We Need More of You!

Thorn Creek Woods Nature Center provides nature related programs for children and adults.

Our Open Hours volunteers greet nature center visitors—usually lots of visitors in fall and spring. They answer phones and allow the Nature Center to have regular hours on Fridays from noon to 4 p.m.

And, just as importantly, these volunteers do regular chores—feed the birds, empty garbage and recycling containers, minor repairs, design displays or stuff brochures for mailing —that are necessary in operating a nature center and preserve.

Volunteers deliver our program brochures, Friends newsletters, program flyers and Nature Education brochures to local libraries, villages & centers.

Four hours each month can make all the difference to assist our Naturalists & keep the Nature Center open.

We provide training, snacks and a variety of fun tasks. We’ll train you!
