Beginning Birding for Kids

Beginning bird for kids is here again!  Beginning bird watching for kids. Impress your friends this spring with your birding smarts and binocular savvy. Come get an early start with this popular hobby – bird watching. Learn key shapes, markings, habits and songs for our most common local birds including water birds – with activities, bird call sounds and a hike. This is a popular event.

Kids!   After you go home from this class you can CREATE YOUR OWN BIRD or BIRD WATCHING DISPLAY OR PROJECT!  Bring your show-and-tell project with you to the Nature Center to display and show off and teach people about birds on Saturday, February 17.  Your project can be like a science fair project or an art show exhibit, or a diorama, or a puzzle or anything you like to tell everyone about birds!

On that day, the fun begins with a 9 a.m. Beginning Bird Hike at our free and open to the public event, “Beginning Birding for All” on Saturday, February 17.

This program will be held indoors in an accessible facility.  For the hikes participants should be able to walk 1 mile outdoors on natural surface trails across uneven and possibly wet/muddy terrain.

This event is Sponsored by the Thorn Creek Audubon Society.
